Amr Adeeb, the flamboyant host of the popular Al-Qahira El-Yom on Orbit, had a scoop today.
He announced Gamal Mubarak's (42) engagement to a young Egyptian blonde called Khadija, 22.
A few months ago the "independent'" press here, specifically El-Osbou', ran photos of the couple (separately) and announced their engagement but the girl's family denied the "rumours."
Uhm.. alf mabruk lel 3arousein..
PS. Take note, when the Mubaraks or their friends deny something that means the opposite is true. Mashi?

hmmm.. not bad..
Welcome back TIC! :)
Not TIC but a friend :)
I wanted to take the name which I liked alot and TIC said I could but I think its better to wear my own shoes, don't you think?
As for the Gamal engagement: don't you think we should be more cautious even as we JOKE about her being the future lady? That's unofficial endorsment of what many Egyptians have been resisting for a long time now! I know I fell into that too by calling her the first lady but in retrospect I think that was wrong!
That's a decent picture of Khadiga. Her mother looks a hot MESS, though. Why is it that most "upper-class" Egyptian women think that looking like a drag queen is cute?
Because most Egyptians in general don't have great taste I'm sorry to say!
But Josephine, Khadija's looks isn't the issue I must say. It's her spoilt brat fiance who is clearly doing everything he possibly can to secure the job he's dying to get. I'm not sure if Gamal was popular that Egyptians would be that sacrcastic or even hostile about his engagement.
Then of course his "choice" of a bride (qualitications: billionaress, pretty, blonde and 'aucian' as if that's Cambridge or something)only asserts the image he is projecting of himself which is disconnected from the society he claims to represent (when in fact he resents it).
Thanks for dropping by! I'll try to post more English posts in the future!
Why the hell does anyone care???
However he choses, people will still have something to say!!!
Seebo el nas fi halhom.
If you get to know either of them Gammal or Khadiga.... you wouldn't be so judgemental, and you may even be happy for them and happy for the future of your country
anonymous:
This isn't about their characters- its about Gamal who is grooming himself to be president over our dead bodies. As if we Egyptians don't deserve to elect our president in free and fair multi-canidate elections.
Egypt is a great nation despite everything and we deserve to live a better life. Mubarak's 25 year old rule brought repression, poverty, chaos, deterioration in everything: education, arts, sports, urban planning, medicine, healthcare, science, agriculture- YOU NAME IT.
And to plague us with a Mubarak successor as if this is a monarcy is simply disgusting.
If Jimmy wants to be president he has to earn it but he knows he can't earn it because he's disconnected from society and is behaving like the typical dictator, running the country while daddy gets tan in Sharm.
That's what it's all about, don't you get it? I honestly don't care who he marries or what he does in his personal life as long as he stays away from us. I think Egyptians need to feel human.
khadiga went to my school...she's not some trophy girl...she's a smart a girl with character...and for the past 5 yrs she;s been in a loving relationship with someone who went to the same skool as well.. I dunno how this happened but i really feel sorry for the girl
Hey anonymous, i'm interested in hearing more about Khadija asides the superficial stuff the press says about her that makes her look like a trophy wife-to-be...please enlighten...
I've come across this blog and it irked my curiosity to know why is it inactive since 2010 despite all the major "happenings" (also can be read as revolution) in Egypt?
Who is the writer?
